Customs :

If you are from the European Union, you must complete the " Tourist Migratory Form " (FMT) handed to you on the plane on arrival before going through customs. You must also have:

- A valid passport and photocopy of the main page

- Your return plane ticket

Make sure your documents are in perfect order or problems could arise to spoil your holidays.

Languages :

Spanish is the official language. Although most Mexicans speak English very well, in shops avoid using English and try French or Spanish instead because prices are likely to climb if you speak English. If you pretend to be Europeans discovering Mexico, it works very well.

Transport :

To move around Cancun and the Maya Riviera, we recommend using taxis. Of course, before getting into a taxi, make sure to have already settled on a good price with the driver, which will help avoid surprises. Tour buses are also a good alternative because they are nicely air-conditioned to get to Tulum, Chichen Itza ... The Bus Station is located in downtown Cancun. When you go out at night, if you take the public bus to your hotel, a good atmosphere is guaranteed, especially during Spring Break, but if you're agoraphobic, take a taxi!

Health :

Although most hotels make an effort to eliminate mosquitos, plan to take a mosquito repellent device with you and generally avoid roommates who leave their window open.

With regard to vaccines, vaccination against hepatitis A, hepatitis B, rabies, tetanus – polio and typhoid fever… can be useful.

Tips :

Tips are generally attributed to the restaurant, bar, staff room, beach club and club. Around 1 USD. Having the right server, beach manager or staff room will save you time. It is well worth befriending the servers.

Electrical Standards :

The power grid is different from the one you can find in Europe, namely 110V / 60Hz. Two networks are provided for cell phone chargers and laptops. However, do not forget to bring electric adapters. 5 star hotels in Cancun provide them, but you can also find them at the airport, electronic stores and supermarkets. Never be stranded without music as universal outlets are on sale in the hotel shop.
